Ran 5k in under 33 minutes
I feel proud of my new record as I never thought I could run 5 kilometers. I haven't felt healthier ever before.
The credit goes to my Garmin Coach.

I started running in November 2022. I needed a watch to track my runs. My requirements were:
- The watch should have an inbuilt GPS as I don't carry a smartphone.
- It should have a good battery life.
- It is good to have music on device itself.
Parth, my cousin, suggested Garmin Forerunner 245 Music. It had all three. I was surprised at the inbuilt support for Spotify. The battery life was over 7 days. And Garmin is popular for its accuracy and long lasting built.
What I didn't know was that Garmin App has an option for Virtual Coach. And it is totally free 🔥. We can set a goal (target distance and target time) and the coach prepares a training course for us.
My pace at that time was ~9.30 minutes / km. I chose a goal to do 5k in under 35 minutes. The coach gave the earliest date for goal completion after 3 months.
The App scheduled 4 runs each week. It also provided some literature and short videos during the training. These were very well prepared and very helpful.
The runs each week were designed to build endurance. They increased the distance and pace over the months. During the training process, it made me run 8k too. And I was surprised to be able to do that.
Finally, I did my 5k on last Saturday. And completed it well before my target goal. I love Garmin and can't wait to pick-up next goal.
